NZ to attempt Onesie World Record

Onesie Craze

News from Down Under (Ooooh Eerh Missus). A world record is on the cards from New Zealand when the Vodafone Warriors Rugby League team hold a Onesie party at Mount Smart Stadium this Saturday night to promote awareness for Kidz First Children’s Hospital. The hospital hold an annual ‘Jammies in June’ fund raising campaign.

Fans have been asked to wear their onesies to the club’s clash against the Brisbane Broncos in a bid to snatch the Guinness world record for the ‘largest gathering of people wearing one-piece pyjamas.’

The existing record of 1184 was achieved by our own Ringwood School, Hampshire in February this year at a charity event supporting an ‘End Polio’ campaign.

Vodafone Warriors community manager said “Kidz First is one of our major charity partners …We want members and fans to turn up in huge numbers wearing their onesies as a show of support for the campaign and hopefully we’ll set a world record while we’re at it.

The Onesie World record has gone from the UK to USA then back again and now potentially to NZ. Perhaps there should be a Onesie World Cup, though probably Qatar might be a tad warm.
