The fashion for pyjama type outfits continues. November is “National Sleep Comfort month” and website Style Bistro looks at celebrities wearing outfits inspired by Pyjama fashion. The idea seems to be that they want to give the impression of not trying too hard – “I woke up like this”.
Actress Robin Wright (you know, used to be married to Sean Penn, was love interest in Forrest Gump, and recently starred in the US re-make of House of Cards) has made a contribution to pyjama fashion and created a new brand “Pour les Femmes” with designer and friend Karen Fowler. It’s a chic collection of a cosy two-piece pyjama set with both a short and long nightie all priced in the USA at $169, so roughly £110. Interestingly, the actress reports that 100 percent of profits from the venture will benefit women in the Congo who are victims of violence. Wright’s own sleep preferences inspired the collection. She told HuffPost Style: “My partner, [Karen] and I searched for the finest cotton that we thought was not only soft, but breathable. We designed our own print that was very light and delicate, as I really don’t like over the top prints. We worked on the fit so they are comfortable but have a little shape, so you feel sexy in them.”
And then from the sublime of helping worthy causes to the not so sublime. Reports on Twitter that Rob Kardashian, business man and model, is involved in designing a new casual range. Kim Kardashian once tried to motivate her brother Rob by telling him to fix his couch potato lifestyle. Well, apparently the sock designer – yes he owns a sock brand called Arthur George – has got his butt off of the couch and designed a line of loungewear. According to photos from the lookbook, his new collection will include sweat pants, cotton t-shirts, and adult-sized onesies.
